It was raining, so he left Hebi and went outside the cave.
He liked rain - raindrops were taking away all his emotions, all thoughts and memories.
In a night like this, he couldn't think about Itachi, Naruto nor past life. All feelings were fading.

After all those years he always felt her presence...

That was true.

To avenge his family, he had to forget about past and walk straight without hesitation.
He had to be like this, because there was a feeling, that if he turn back even once, he'll encounter a pair of green eyes which will capture him, and won't let him go anymore...
