And they are the same thing. The word 'panther' actually refers to any, overly melanistic large cat (e.g. leopards, jaguars, cougars, etc). The panther doesn't even have to be completely black to be considered a panther; the cat in question could have something called pseudo-melanism--where the spots are unusually dense that they obscure the golden-brown background color of the coat. Ergo, panthers range from completely black to an unusually dark spotted coat.
The title of this piece is therefore acceptable. Being black and white, I doubt it could've been drawn any darker without losing it's beauty.
So please do your homework before throwing insults, moron.
